One Month!!

Yesterday, Alicia and I celebrated one month of marriage.

She is my queen, my bride, my partner in crime!

My life is sooo boring

Well, at least that's the feeling I got after watching Slumdog Millionare. There's just something about movies like that that gets me thinking. Life in Boulder, Colorado presents about as much danger and conflict as running from a pack of wild marshmallow peeps. As a result I tend to idealize the dangerous and conflict packed lives of the characters in these action/drama movies. I think this is what draws Americans to these movies so much, it's a convenient place to get our fix of meaningful life experiences from. I am quite guilty of idealizing a character in a movie who for instance is kidnapped, robbed, and dropped in a foreign country. Wow, now that sounds like an adventure! This is kind of ridiculous because I'm sure if I really was in that situation I wouldn't be stoked to eat rats and sleep in garbage cans. Ok, so I've established that this situation would not be as idylic as I sometimes imagine, but somewhere deep down I still long or these types of experiences. Experiences where I can live out my masculinity. Finally know the answer to the question in the back of my mind of what I would do in a fist fight, without having to punch a random guy on the street. I know for a fact, actually it's more than a fact, it's instinct, that I was not created to dedicate my life to a
demasculating, unfulfilling, self-centered way of life. I want to live by my God-inspired instincts. Help me Lord.

1st post

Welp, my life at the moment is a whirl of things beginning and ending. Just a week and a half left in this semester then I'm off to Iowa to hang out with Alicia's family and attend the wedding celebration of Justin and Andrea.

This computer lab is filled with interesting sounds and smells. I gotta catch the Hop over to work now. Sucks to be working inside on such a nice day. :(
